Creating reference construction planes

- [Instructor] In this chapter we are going to create the downtube of the bicycle frame. That is the tube that goes from the head tube here and goes along down to the bottom bracket. Now when we did our original sketch for this bicycle frame we created this spline line that comes in here. And we're going to use that as the shape of how the tube's going to flow through the bike. So what we're going to do is we're going to create a construction plane down here that's perpendicular to the line. We're then going to create a sketch on that surface and we're going to use a tool called the sweep tool to drive that shape along this line and up to the head tube. So let's go ahead and start with the construction plane. We're going to go under the construction tools and we're going to select the plane along path. We're going to select the line. And then we're going to move this down to the bottom. And so the distance would be 00. Now this is going to be the foundation of the design for this tube.
