Defining obstacles
- [Instructor] As important as it is for Fusion 360 to understand what needs to be preserved, defining the obstacles that the new model cannot pass through can be just as important. To define obstacle geometry, simply go to the next tool on the toolbar, start the obstacle geometry tool, and select any component that the generated component needs to go around, or when it meets it, has to conform to its geometry. This model is fairly simple in its approach, but if you think about other geometry that might be floating in space, or like we're doing with these disks, we can use the shapes to guide a specific form for a portion of it from the outside but not restricting its size completely. After selecting the geometry, pick OK, and you'll see the color of the obstacle geometries turn to red. If we realize that we need additional geometry, such as clearance for bolts and the tools that will tighten those bolts, we can return back to edit model, and either create primitives or sketches like…
