Defining roads

- [Instructor] This digital model right now looks like a traditional site model, but I want to add a little more detail in the form of roads. There are many ways to represent roads on a topo model like this, and the best way I found is to split the topography sheets using the road outlines and then lower those new road sheets one topographic layer. This allows us to visually distinguish between what is terrain and what is road in our model. The defined edge between the road and the terrain also makes it easier to paint them different colors once the site is milled out. Here you can see a milled version of this site that my company model space made after the site pieces were painted to give you an idea of what road definition could look like. Back in our model, to get started with this process, I think I want to turn off my topo layers. And next I'm going to go to my site context, and then to my sketches and turn on my roads.…
