Designing the table tray

- [Instructor] The keyboard tray will serve as a shelf to hold an external keyboard and track pad or computer mouse. To get started, we'll need to create our last new component. After naming it Keyboard Tray and clicking OK, we can create a rectangle on the bottom origin plane. To ensure there is sufficient space for the keyboard and mouse, we'll make the width of our tray the width parameter plus 13 inches of extra space. This leaves us with a total of 28 inches. The depth of our tray will be 12 inches, as part of our tray will be set back on the groove cutouts. Remember those were 3.5 inches, which means we'll have approximately 8.5 inches of usable space. This sketch is now complete and can be turned into our plywood thickness. We'll use joints to position the keyboard tray, followed by some fillets to finish our design off with some soft edges.
