Performing a stress analysis

- [Instructor] Fusion 360 includes computer aided engineering tools as well. Depending on the version of Fusion 360 you have you could be executing a static stress or a structural buckling study just about as easy as creating a fill it. First step in creating a finite element analysis in Fusion 360 is to change the workspace. To do this go to the tool bar and use the workspace dropdown to select simulation. When you enter the simulation workspace for the first time you're offered a selection of what type of study you'd like to execute. In this case, we'll use static stress. And when it loads the environment you'll see that it changes the toolbar as well as changes the browser. The first thing that I'd like to do is override my standard units by changing the force units to pound force. We'll work our way down the toolbar from left to right setting the material for the study. We could use the same material that the part is currently made of but I'd like to change this to a cast iron. We…
