Setting up parameters in Discovery from imported Fusion 360 file

- In this video, I'm going to talk to you about how I use simulation very early in the design process to validate what I'm doing. Now the product that I use to do this is called ANSYS discovery. This is made by ANSYS. That is a long time leader in the simulation world and they have many other high level simulation platforms that they use. Discovery is built on that. And it's a very approachable simulation software that's live solves in the software in real time. It also allows you to do modifications and design changes all within discovery itself. And then you can take that out to their flagship products to do final validation and any refinements that you'd like to do. Now, the idea here is to introduce simulation early so that if we have a design bias or a problem or something that we know that's wrong, well, we don't know that it's wrong, that we can find that's incorrect early. This is what we want to do. We want to solve for that as fast as possible. So in this particular bike we did a couple of things that were pretty new. It's a single-sided fork it's been done before in the bike industry, but we haven't done it before. And the properties of how the, the wind flow is is very different historically in the front triangle the front area of a bicycle, the, the gap between the fork the two fork blades is known for having a turbulence issue right here. This has always been known to have a problem. So we want to see how a single-sided fork will will respond. Also the same goes true for the rear of the bike where this the rear wheel and this chain stay are. That's always historically been a turbulence pocket right there where we have a a lot of dirty air that comes in forms. So we want to just see how this design responds to the CFD tests. So this is something that's going to be super interesting. You'll also notice that I added some components here. This is just something we have from our library of components. So it, this is just a simple seat and see posts. And then this is just a handlebar system that I just built real quick for the bike. This is just so I can basically assemble everything together. So we have like a working bike. The other thing that is a little different is I created these in solid bodies. So these are actually patched and filled so that they're not just open surfaces so that I can allow discovery to mesh the part correctly. And that's it. So once we have this set, we are ready to start simulating.
