- [Tutor] This far, we created milling paths to fabricate a site model with step topography. In professional practice, this is the most popular style of site model for a few reasons. First off, it recreates a kind of nostalgic old style of model building where model builders like myself would hand cut sheets of material like chipboard and profiles of our topography outline, and then stack them up to construct a site mass. CNC Milling allows for a more cost-effective fabrication technique with the same visual result. Secondly, these topography lines directly correspond to the drafted civil site topography. That means multiple groups can coordinate on a project and point to one part of our site model and immediately understand the landscape elevation and the topography steps relative to our building.
