- [Tutor] So now, let's take a quick look at using the shell command and a few different thickness inspection tools. The shell command is used to create a part of uniform wall thickness, which is very useful in plastics injection molded parts as well as metal castings to help avoid warp and distortion. So, I can jump right into my shell command, search my modified tools, and there we have shell. In the shell tool we have a few options to run through. First very important, the faces or body I would like to select. And this is an important distinction here because we can either select faces or an entire body. So, let's start by just trying to select the entire body here. And if I select this. And then I want to define some inside wall thickness.
