Using simplification to explore design

- [Instructor] Model simplification can be used to remove features from the model that would add unnecessary overhead to the simulation. But the simulation environment can also offer ways to explore the design without changing the original CAD model. The results we've gotten by changing the material on our design have improved it, but perhaps adding geometry or removing geometry would improve the design even further. So let's go to the simplify workspace and create a sketch on top of the bottom boss. We'll project some geometry, the outer edge of the boss and begin placing a couple of rectangles. We'll rough in their size taking advantage of coincidence constraints and equal constraints to create the two new ribs in a consistent fashion. We'll add dimensions and make two ribs that will go into the yoke shape at a 10th of an inch wide. When I finish this sketch, I'll extrude these two new features down to the…
