Using a sketch to manage precision geometry

- [Instructor] Now that we have the shell of the head tube all drawn up, it's time to go back into the sketch and work on the bearing seats inside the head tube. It's very important that we get all of the dimensions right and the internal geometry correct. This is to make sure that the bearings seat properly inside of the head tube and locate the steer tube of the bike fork just right. In order to better explain how the internal geometry needs to be inside the head tube, I'm showing you here a mock up of the steer tube of the bike fork, which is this carbon fiber part right here, and then the lower bearing and the upper bearing. Let's go ahead and start with the upper bearing here. You can see that there is a constant ODI here, and then there's a 45 degree chamfer on the bearing. And this is so that we can locate the bearing perfectly in the head tube and also due to the fact that as an angular contact bearing, it helps…
