What are Sweeps?

- [Instructor] I'm using the 2-15 sample file for this, which is also a loft, but there is a different way of creating a transitionary shape. Lofts go from profile to profile. So you certainly can have a circle flowing into a circle flowing into a rectangle flowing into a trapezoid flowing into all sorts of different shapes, but sometimes you don't want that. Sometimes you just want one shape to be moved over a path, and what that is is called a sweep. I'm going to go back in time one step here and get rid of our loft like that. I want you to go up and say create sweep under create. In this case, we're going to select the circle in the bottom and then the path. The path will be what was our guide rail, but in this case, it's just a path, and you noticed that nothing worked until we switch this to parallel, so switch this to parallel. What this does is this creates a circle along this path. At any given point, this circle is the same diameter as it ever was, but it is just moving in…
