Z-up for 3D printing

Z-up for 3D printing

- [Presenter] Good news! The default access orientation of Fusion 360 is now at Z which is optimized for 3D printing. If you are frequently using SolidWorks and Inventor, you might want to change the default orientation to Y axis which matches both. As you can see, the default orientation of SolidWorks Y axis is pointing up. And same with Inventor, the Y axis is also pointing up. To change the axis orientation, simply head up to your profile so left click here, head to Preferences and under General, simply head to Default modeling orientation and change this to Y up and hit Apply and OK. And, notice as we create a new design, hitting the plus sign, the orientation is now Y up. If you are frequently switching files between SolidWorks, Inventor and other CAD packages with Fusion 360, having the axis orientation matching them all is very useful.
