M08: Coolant

- [Instructor] This movie is about coolant. To turn coolant on, use the M8 command, and to turn coolant off, use the M9 command. It's a pretty simple and straightforward thing to do. However, coolant really does play in a very important role in CNC machining. First off, it keeps the tool cool and lubricates the part, and it evacuates the chips from the top of your part. So, it's very important not only to have it turned on, but also to have it aimed correctly at your tool. Now, if you happen to have a programmable coolant nozzle, you can adjust that to point at the tool the right way, or if you just have regular nozzles, make sure you're kind of adjusting them so that, depending on the different length of the tools you're using, you're getting some coolant flow on each one of those tools. Sometimes you have a very short tool, maybe a very long tool, and you don't want to have that very long tool not getting any coolant 'cause all your nozzles are pointing at the short tool. So, keep…
