- [Instructor] The Equalize command in GIMP can be used to add contrast to images in a non-destructive way. Start by duplicating the layer that needs more contrast. Choose Colors, Auto, Equalize. Set the layer mode to Luminance. And reduce the layer's opacity to create the desired look. To return to the original look at anytime, turn off the duplicate layer.
