- [Instructor] Let's take a look at how to change the print size of a document in GIMP. You can use the print size command, which is found in the image menu, to set the resolution of an image. Note that this command does not affect the overall number of pixels in an image. If you want to change that, you can use the canvas size command found here. But in this case, I'm going to choose print size. And in the dialogue box, I can change the values for the width and height of the image, and set the unit of measure, or I can set the X and Y resolution, and the units. And notice when I change either the width or height, the X and Y resolution automatically changes. And changing the X or Y resolution changes the width and height. Now, the reason for this is as I mentioned earlier, the print size command cannot change the number of pixels in an image. It only changes how those pixels are distributed over a physical area for print. So, increasing the physical size decreases the resolution…
