Airbrush tool
- [Instructor] Let's look at how the airbrush tool works in GIMP. This works like the paintbrush but it has two added options of rate and flow. I'll start by taking the airbrush tool and looking at those two options way down at the bottom of the tool options here. There's rate and there's flow. I'm going to reset my tool options and choose my hardness 50 brush and set a big size of 200. I'll make sure that dynamics are off and let's talk about rate. Rate is how much the paint effect builds up while you click. This is like holding an airbrush or a can of spray paint in one place while you spray. The paint just gets thicker and thicker. Flow is how fast the paint is coming out the whole time that you're painting. So to illustrate the difference I'll turn the rate all the way down to zero and set the flow to 25. I'll click and hold for a few seconds and notice the paint effect is not getting any darker even though I'm keeping my mouse button held down. Now without releasing, I'll move my…
