Apply, disable, and delete layer masks

- [Instructor] So far we've seen the basics of creating layer masks in GIMP. Now we'll look at how to disable a mask, how to delete a mask, and how to merge a mask with the layer content by applying it. So first, let's see how to disable a mask. This allows you to turn off the effects of a mask and show all the content on a layer. But the mask is still there, and you can bring it back at any time. To disable a layer mask, select the layer or the mask. And notice you can tell which one you have selected by the color of the boundary here in the canvas. And then go to the Layer menu and choose Mask, Disable Layer Mask. Notice how the mask is highlighted here in red. And even though it's disabled, you can still view the mask by choosing Show Layer Mask from the Layer menu. And I'll turn that off. And re-enable the mask by going to the Layers Dialog and turning off Disable Layer Mask. The big benefit of using layer masks is that they're non-destructive. And we just illustrated that by…
