Create a parametric brush

- GIMP comes with a basic set of sample brushes that can get you started, but it won't be long until you'll want to create some new brushes of your own. The process isn't hard, but it is different for the various brush types. So, in this movie, we'll see how to make custom parametric brushes. To create a new brush, I need to open the Brushes Dialog, which I'm going to do by taking any tool that uses brushes, like the paintbrush tool, opening the brush menu, and then clicking this brush button down at the bottom right. I could use an existing parametric brush as a starting point, and I can show them by typing basic in the tags menu, and then clicking duplicate. But, in this case I want to create one from scratch, so I'll clear the basic filter, and click the button to create a new brush. I'm going to call it Flower. And, we start with a shape: circle, square, or diamond. I'll choose circle, and then I have six parameters that I can adjust tocustomize this circle, starting with the…
