Create patterns with the Clone tool

- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll see how to use the fixed alignment option with the clone tool to create a simple, repeating pattern in an image. With the fixed alignment option all you get is copies of the exact pixels from the place where you set the clone source. So the same pixels are going to be repeated over and over. Which is not going to be useful in most cases for retouching an image, but it can help you create some fun effects. For example, in our picture of the dog we can add a set of paw prints by cloning the one that we have here in the bottom left. So I'll take the clone tool, reset my options. I'll choose fixed alignment and the hardness 100 brown brush with a size that's just bigger than the paw print. And that's going to be 200. I'll space out the paw prints with a spacing value of 150% of the brush width. And sample merged is not selected, because I just want pixels from the paw print layer.
