Ellipse Select tool

- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll see how to make selections in GIMP using the ellipse select tool. In the toolbox, the ellipse is right next to the rectangle select tool by default. You can click to get it, or press the keyboard shortcut e. Click and drag to draw out a new elliptical selection. And when you release, handles appear that you can use to adjust your selection, just like we saw with the rectangle select tool in an earlier movie. Click in the center of the selection to hide those handles, click again to bring them back. Click outside the selection, to deselect. And just like with the rectangle select tool, there are keyboard shortcuts you can use with the ellipse select tool. Hold Shift after you start dragging, to constrain the selection to be a perfect circle. After you start dragging, hold cmd on the Mac or ctrl on Windows to make the selection centered on the spot where you clicked.
