Foreground Select tool

- [Instructor] Let's continue our look at GIMP's selection tools, by trying out the Foreground Select tool. This tool works like a combination of other selection tools including the Free Select tool, the Fuzzy Select tool, and the Quick Mask Feature which we'll look at in another movie. In the exercise file, say I wanted to isolate the surfer from the rest of the image. I'll take the Foreground Select tool, and draw a rough selection around her, a bit like I would with the Free Select tool. But I don't have to be precise at all. I'll just make sure everything I want to be selected, is within the outline that I draw. I'll click to close that, and then press return or enter. And now I see an overlay, indicating the initial mask that GIMP will use to decide what's the foreground object that I'm trying to select. Depending on the content of the image, blue might not be the best color for the overlay, so I can change the overlay color in the tool options to green, red, or gray. In this…
