- [Instructor] Let's finish our look at the painting tools in GIMP with the MyPaint Brush tool. This tool allows you to mimic lots of traditional art techniques with collections of free, opensource brushes that you can find on the internet and download to GIMP. So let's see how it works. I click on the MyPaint Brush tool in the toolbox and you can see that there are far fewer tool options than there are with the other painting tools that we've seen so far. Compare these options with those for the regular paintbrush tool, for example. Besides the opacity, we can choose the brush tip, as well as the radius, the base opacity and the hardness. And that's it! And the reason for this is, that most of the attributes are defined in the brush file. So on the one hand, you're limited into what you can customize but on the other hand, someone else has already done the work of creating cool and useful brushes for you.
