- [Instructor] In this movie we'll see how to select colors from an image using the Color Picker tool. I'll start by taking the tool, which looks like an eyedropper, in the toolbox. And to use it, you simply move your cursor over the colors in an image and click. And when I clicked, the color I clicked on was set as the foreground color. That's one of four modes for the color picker tool, and it's the default. The foreground color is used by the painting tools, like when you brush with a paintbrush, or fill an area with the bucket fill tool. And it's also used in the default gradient along with the background color, which you can see by clicking the Gradient tool. As I've mentioned in other movies, you can swap the foreground and background colors by clicking this small curved arrow. I'll go back to the Color Picker tool and we'll look at the other modes.
