- [Instructor] Let's continue our look at GIMP selection tools by seeing what we can do with the Select by Color tool. In a previous movie we saw how the Fuzzy Select tool lets you click on a color in an image to select a contiguous area of similar colors, and the Select by Color tool does almost the same thing. The difference is that the Select by Color tool is not limited to selecting contiguous areas. It will look for colors throughout the image that fall within the threshold value you specify and include them in the selection, and that's almost the only difference. Notice how the tool options for the Select by Color tool are nearly identical as the options for the Fuzzy Select tool. The only difference is that this diagonal neighbors option is missing from the Select by Color tool, because it's not needed. Otherwise, the options function identically.
