Split view
- [Instructor] When you're making adjustments to an image with filters or color tools, GIMP allows you to see a before and after view simultaneously with a feature called split view. Let's see how it works. Here in the exercise file, we have our surfer and let's say we wanted to add some dramatic lighting effects with a filter. We could go to the filters menu and choose light and shadow supernova. And you can see this creates a light burst effect. I can change it to a golden color so it looks like the sun. And then drag to position it on the horizon. And I can also lengthen or shorter the rays. And you can see that it's adding this yellowing effect over the surfer. If I wanted to compare her original look to this I can turn on the split view in the dialogue right here. This divides the image into a before and after view with a vertical guide.
