Tour the GIMP interface

- [Instructor] Let's begin our work with GIMP by exploring its user interface. I'm using GIMP on the Mac, but the Windows interface is nearly identical, and whenever there's a difference, I'll point it out. There are two main modes you can choose for the GIMP interface, multi-window mode and single-window mode. And when you first install GIMP, you'll be in multi-window mode where the toolbox, image window, and dialogs are all separate. And you can toggle between the two window modes by going to the Windows menu and selecting or deselecting Single-Window Mode. I'll leave it in single-window mode and maximize the view. And when you're in single-window mode, the entire GIMP interface is contained in one window that you can resize or move as a unit. On the left side of the window, there's a toolbox where you can select a tool to work on your image and below that are tool options to adjust how each tool works.
