Understanding paths

- [Instructor] Most of the time when you're working in GIMP, you'll be working with image pixels. Paths offer you an entirely different way of working with graphics. Paths are composed of lines connected by anchor points, and they're also known as vectors. You create and edit paths in GIMP by clicking and dragging with the Paths Tool. And paths have lots of uses. You can convert paths to selections and vice versa. You can use paths to customize the look of type and apply strokes and other effects. And you can import and export paths between GIMP and other graphics applications. So let's see how to create and modify vector paths in GIMP. In our exercise file, we have some basic shapes to trace to get the hang of drawing paths. There's a house which is composed of all straight lines.
