- [Instructor] At first glance, to concept of game view seems pretty straightforward. It's the player's perspective into the world, right? Well, yes, but there's more to it than that. There are in fact two takes on game view that matter to game designers. Information. The first facet of game view which interests us is actually an informational one. At any given moment, the game is in a particular state. Are you winning or am I? And by how much? How much of that information can the player see about themselves and about other players? Camera. The second game view we're concerned with as designers is the location of the camera. It lets us direct the player's view into the world and has important ramifications for their play experience. Let's start with the informational game view. Think for a moment of the last game you played, a board game or a video game, doesn't matter.
