Equalizing tracks

- [Instructor] Okay, in these next couple of movies, I wanna touch on some ways you can improve, and enhance the sounds of your individual tracks in GarageBand. Let's start by talking about equalization or EQ. I'm gonna select and solo the snare drum track. And let's open up the Smart Controls. By the way, the keyboard shortcut for toggling the Smart Controls area is b, as in baker. Now, as we previously saw, the Smart Controls area in GarageBand, includes a tab to access the visual EQ settings. I'm just gonna make this a little bit larger here. This is an eight band graphic equalizer, and every track has its own EQ settings which you can use to optimize the sound of the tracks. If you've used graphic equalizers in other audio editing applications, you should have no trouble using this one in GarageBand, but here's a quick overview in case you're not familiar with working with EQs.
