Installing Git on Windows

- [Instructor] There are multiple versions of Git for Windows. To install on windows, open a web browser and go to git-scm.com and click on the downloads link. In the downloads, box click on Windows. It'll start downloading a version automatically. Click on cancel. The version that started downloading automatically is the version that the Git website has decided for us. We canceled that, so we can see our options. We can see on this page that we have 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Git for Windows. There is also a portable version of Git for thumb drives. You probably want to choose the 64-bit version of Git depending on your hardware or you can click on refresh on the web browser and let the get website recommend a version for you again. Once you refresh or click on a version it will download to the Downloads folder. Once it is downloaded you can click on Run to run Installer. Say yes to install. Click on Next to accept the GPL license. And we'll click on Next to accept the defaults…
