- [Instructor] Do you know there are four different keyword match types with Google Ads? This course is going to teach you about each match type, what it is, how to use it, when to use it, and when they trigger your ads. The four keyword types are exact match, phrase match, broad match modifier, or BMM as the pros call it, and broad match. You use exact match when you want to show your ads for a search that exactly matches your keywords. Exact matches are less likely to trigger irrelevant searches, have a lower CPC, or per cost per click, and you know a keyword is an exact match in a Google Ads account because there are square brackets on either side of the keyword. So if you owned a bike shop and you wanted to bid on commuter bike, you'd put the square bracket on either side of it.
