- [Instructor] Do you know what makes for good ad copy or running PPC ads? Good ad copy is easy to read and understand, is clear and to the point, you don't want to use business jargon whenever possible, and as I always like to say, if your mom won't understand it, don't write it in your ad copy. A Google search ad is made up of headlines and description lines. You can have a max of three headlines and two description lines. Each headline can be no longer than 30 characters with spacing. We often find that ads with just two headlines perform better than ads with three headlines because the third headline often gets truncated on Google ads. Here's that insurance ad again, and here are the three headlines. Each description line can be no longer than 90 characters with spacing.
