- [Instructor] Mobile apps have a unique set of KPIs that are important to track. Let's explore how they work and why they're important. We're looking at the Google Play Store listing for Candy Crush Saga, but really, this will work for any mobile app. The first KPI you want to think about is install rate. There's are lots of people getting to this page. There are a number of factors that affect install rate, for example, the icon of your app, the category, the images that you show, and also the number of positive reviews. You may not know this, but actually a lot of people who install apps never open them, so the second important thing is activation rate. After installing, do you actually open the app and then register for the game or for the service? The final thing is retention rate.
