- Content websites have a unique set of KPIs that are important to track. Let's explore how they work and why they're important. We're on the ESPN website, but the things that we learn here today will be applicable to really any publisher of content. We're going to cover three KPIs. The first one is time on site. The longer you spend on the ESPN website, the more chances they have to show you advertising, and that's how they make money. Another thing that's important is scroll depth, so if you click into an individual article and then you scroll further down, that's an indication that the content was good, the content got you hooked and got you to scroll further down the page. The final KPI that's important is video views. Typically video ads command a premium over banner ads, so getting you to watch more of the videos is really important to publishers.
