- [Narrator] eCommerce websites have a unique set of KPIs that are important to track. Let's explore how they work and why they're important. We're looking at the IKEA website, but really the lessons we learn here today will apply to any eCommerce business. The first thing that's important for eCommerce businesses is getting you to add to cart. So for example, if we browse the website and then we find something we want to buy, first thing they ask us to do is add to shopping bag or add to cart. Now this product is added to cart. It shows up here as a notification. This is the first step towards purchasing, so it's super important. The next step would be to add my delivery information, click and collect and then purchase. So the second KPI that's really important is basket abandonment rate. If I added this to cart and I don't purchase, then IKEA has a real problem. They lost out on a potential sale.
