- [Instructor] Now that you have a foundational understanding of cloud storage and encryption, let's go over some best practices you should keep in mind when it comes to data security in the Google Cloud Platform. The first best practice when it comes to getting started with cloud storage is regarding naming guidelines. There are a number of bucket and object naming guidelines that you should view in the Google Cloud documentation. But one of the most important ones to highlight is to not use user IDs, email addresses, project names, any personal identifiable information in your naming convention for your bucket or object. This is because anyone on the internet can probe for the existence of public buckets and therefore see the name of this bucket.
