- [Instructor] Google BigQuery allows users to query data directly from other Google Cloud data sources, like Cloud storage or Bigtable. You can create a table that references an external source. No data is stored inside BigQuery. Rather, every time the data is queried, the query is executed against the external data source under results provider. This saves on storage costs but has an impact of performance on these queries. Now, I will show you how to create one. We have already loaded up a Google Cloud storage file for normal ranges under the bucket exercise-lil. We will use this CSV file to create an external table. We start off by clicking on the Create New Table button and select Create from Source. Choose the location as Google Cloud storage. Enter the URL for what Google Cloud storage normal_ranges.csv file.
