How to create an instance in Compute Engine

- [Instructor] Let's dive deeper into the Google Cloud compute engine by doing a hands-on demo showing you how to create a virtual machine instance in the platform. To begin, you want to open up the Google Cloud console dashboard and look for compute engine. Remember, you always have the option to search for a service using the search bar at the top. Once you have the compute engine service dashboard open, you will be presented with a number of options from creating an instance, importing your own instance if you have a prebuilt virtual machine image and other options. For this demo, we're going to create a new instance. This will open up the instance configuration page similar to the one shown here. From here, there are a number of options for you to choose from. The first being to give your instance a name that will help you differentiate it from others in your environment. In this case, we're going to call this my first VM.
