Importing exercise files to Google Sheets

- [Instructor] I've included several exercise files in this LinkedIn Learning course. For many of the videos, there's an accompanying exercise file that you can use to practice the Google Sheets skills I'm reviewing in the video. The exercise files are in Microsoft Excel's .xlsx format, but you should open them in Google Sheets. Let me show you how. Start by downloading the exercise files to your computer. Next, open Google Sheets at sheets.google.com. You'll need to be logged in with your Google account. Start a new blank spreadsheet by clicking the big plus icon in the upper left of the Sheets home screen. From the toolbar on your blank spreadsheet, click the File menu and select Import from the dropdown menu that appears. On the pop-up window, click the Upload tab. Click the button labeled Select a File from Your Device. Navigate to where you saved your exercise files and navigate to the chapter and exercise file you'd like to open in Google Sheets. I'll open this file labeled Exercise File, select it, click Open, and Google Sheets will automatically import and convert the file to Google Sheets format. Since you've already created a new spreadsheet, just select Replace Spreadsheet and click Import Data. You can rename this sheet as well. The file automatically saves. The file will also appear on your Google Sheets home screen and in your Google Drive. Any changes you make to the file will be saved there as well. You can use these exercise files to follow along with the videos and try out the skills on your own.
