- Allow me to start out by reminding you that these reports are designed to share what's happening in the market. The word report in the name indicates we are reporting and not endorsing. I interject that comment here, because frankly, I have mixed feelings about this next trend. The black and white hipster badge. I can't deny its existence or its popularity, but its ancestry leaves a bit to be desired. What started out using monoline icons, wraparound typography and wispy, flowing script, was a fresh, honest take on the badge of old. It became so popular in a flash that entire collections of these became available through stock graphic sites for pennies. A download of a collection might give you 50 options, with fonts included, waiting for you to type in your own words and print. A sweet idea had drifted into the mass market.
