- One of the more surprising directions merging with monoline was a group of really brilliant marks utilizing a faceted effect with plains to define shape. Iconologic's program for the Virgin Islands was truly stunning and captured the Carnivale and sparkled with cut gemstone like qualities. No wonder this current logo made a perfect mate for fusion with the monoline technique. Look at the shape of Momentum's M and if you can see beyond the series of surfaces, you realize it's also a series of edges. Nothing defines a crisp edge better than a line and that's what made this a successful marriage. One of the challenges presented by emulating the transparency is surface detail of the front of an object multiplies if you can see the back as well. Facets become complex and you may be better off creating the illusion of reality by defining the front surface only. The same holds true with line work. Though it can be a touch more forgiving, especially if the shape is not terribly complex…
