- When discussing logos with clients or the public, there's one comment that seems to be most frequently registered. If the logo in question includes a triangle or a star, someone always mentions that the mark comes across as sharp or too pointy. I know these may sound like captain obvious comments like noting a picture of a knife looks sharp. But please listen to the underlying message here. Harsh points on graphics of any shape, like it or not, are not friendly. Our brains are actually hardwired to alert us to various dangers and one of these is pointy objects. The mere sight of these objects create anxiety. Think thorns, teeth, needles or anything that might puncture us. Crazy but it's true. This is one of the reasons that we have a certain level of comfort with marks that have had their corners just slightly eased.
