Visual communication can share key data
(upbeat music) - When you think about visual communication, it's important to note that there are two types of visual communication that most people are producing on a regular basis, information visualization and visual storytelling. The idea behind information visualization is simply that the information itself is shown but there's nothing in the narrative to draw conclusion for the end audience. Instead, we're taking very big data sets or very big complex ideas or theories and visualizing them so that the end audience can come to their own conclusions. Here's an example of what I mean. This information visualization or data visualization is another way you can think about it, is showing the Puget Sound Tech universe. These are all the big tech players in the Seattle area. When you look at it, we're showing how different tech players are connected to one another, so as an example, if we look at a very big hub of tech, which is Microsoft, you can see all the different companies that…
