Where transparency could go to next

- As ingrained and venerate as the transparency trend is I continue to be surprised by the clever thinking of designers that find new ways to evolve it forward. This logo for The Domain and L'Aroma introduce a wispy series of part linear lines and part Gaussian shapes to create an effect we've yet to find a category for but certainly both are captivating. These, on the other hand, are merging with actual photographic images to build a fusion solution. Smart idea. As much a trend as a technique, transparency is evolving but not abandoning the inroads it's made. I think some of the flat overlay solutions are just as effective and engaging as the marks that take on a dramatic 3D persona. All this to suggest that you as a designer should feel comfortable pushing any of these genre we discussed in our next evolution.
