The many voices of type, part 2

- So now we're gonna look at some typefaces to create voices for Leaf and Mortar. First up is a font called Filosofia. Filosofia is kind of an old-style literary typeface that's a little bit quirky. You can see the tail on the numeral two, the f-i ligature, the dot on the f normally would cover the i. In the case of Filosofia it doesn't. It has a lot of warm little notes like this that are very conversational, very easy to read. I'm setting just an average line spacing. Type can be set tightly, like you see here. You know, it adds a sense of urgency or density. It can also be loosened, like you see here. Airs it out, slows things down. But for this evaluation, we'll just look at kind of an average. Filosofia is also used for the headline. It's bigger and it's in Filosofia Bold. And the deck head below that headline is kind of an in-between size set in Filosofia Italic.
