(upbeat music) Did you know that today's audiences will only read 20% of the text put in front of them when there's over 600 words? Does that mean people aren't even taking the time to read books these days? (organ music) - Man have you read this book? - Mm, started it. - Yeah, same here. - That's not really what it means. What it means is we've become a headline driven culture. We've become a culture of people who want to take in content but want to skim first. We really want to discern what's going to be the content that we're going to take the time with versus the content that might be a waste of time and so today, as people consume information, they're looking at headlines first and then often they're looking at images to help explain those headlines.
