A type of luxury

- In a previous episode, we look at a concert poster that was assertively rectangular. It was built around a super condensed typeface called Druk Double Extra Condensed. Druk's vertical sides and height allow you to stack it, actually invite you to stack it, to create these beautifully tight designs. It's lovely, it's a style that puts a lot of communication into a small, intentionally rectangular space. The keyword there is intentional. It's pure, every element communicates. Let me show you a contrast to that. Recently came across this logo for Luxe Aesthetics. Hand-drawn which I like, looks like perhaps with lipstick, but then these two ragged lines have been added. More lipstick I'm sure. One above, one below, and I'm thinking, no. It takes an expressively freeform name and boxes it into a rectangle, which you can see better when we add it to the photo. It's massive. It's kind of square. Quite the contrast to the flowing lines of her hair. So why are those lines there? My guess is…
