How to create diagonal grid surfaces in Grasshopper

- [Instructor] In this video, we'll cover step-by-step how to create a diagonal grid surface in Grasshopper. I've got a new blank Grasshopper file here and I've got a freeform surface file in Rhino. Now this will work with any freeform surface but feel free to use the exercise file if you'd like. So first off, let's get our surface into Grasshopper. Under the Params component tab, let's go to geometry and pull up a surface component. I'll right-click on that and select set one surface. And then in Rhino, click on my freeform surface. Now let's make sure that we right-click on our surface parameter and re-parameterize it. And that will make sure that the u and v domains are mapped from zero to one. That'll keep everything a lot more predictable for us. To speed things up a little bit, I'm going to jump to an exercise file that we covered in a different video.
