How to create solid surfaces with Brep Join in Grasshopper

- [Instructor] In this video, we'll look at how to create solid polysurface objects with the B-rep Join component in Grasshopper. Much like in Rhino, the freeform surface components in Grasshopper generate single surfaces. So what comes out of them are these infinitely thin nerve surfaces that have no volume. But of course, when we're making things in 3D, inevitably, we'll want to represent solid objects. And that's where a different kind of surface component comes in to Grasshopper, and that's called the B-rep, or boundary representation. And we can use those to represent a 3D solid or something with volume. They're similar to closed polysurfaces in Rhino. So this example starts with of triangular edges in Rhino. And I can see here, got this sort of faceted shape made up of triangular curves. I've connected those in Grasshopper using a geometry component.
