- [Instructor] Welcome. I have my exercise file open already. In this video, we're looking at Open-Nest. Open-Nest is a plugin that allows you to integrate a nesting solution directly within the Grasshopper canvas, something that, in the past, has been hard to do. I'm using Open-Nest version 1.3, which is available for download free from the food-4-Rhino website. So, to start off with, I have some geometry here. So, I have some cut boundaries of parts and some fold lines within those boundaries. This is pretty typical when you're trying to solve a nesting solution where you have a boundary geometry, but then there's stuff within it that you want to orient along with boundary when you do your nesting. In addition of defining my stock size with a rectangle. So, this would represent like a sheet of aluminum, or maybe a sheet of cardboard if I'm folding these out of cardboard.
